There’s far more to Pisces than meets the eye. At first sight, both Miss and Mr Pisces look delightfully soft and gentle. Often dressed in misty pastel shades, they have attractive, sympathetic faces, musical voices and a graceful way of moving.

You instinctively feel you can confide Pisces and you’d be right.

The element of water gives them wonderful powers of empathy and they really understand emotion. Pisces will genuinely feel your pain and won’t scoff at your worries no matter how trivial. In fact these subjects are so sensitive they have to be careful not to spend too much time with the depressed or distressed because they soak up negative feelings like sponges and this can put a strain on their health.

Pisces loathes confrontation and aggressive behaviour and it’s a rare Pisces who’s caught shouting or quarrelling. But just because they don’t argue it doesn’t mean people can walk all over them.

Pisces will appear to agree with everything said and then astonish everyone by going off and doing something quite different. They have a knack of quietly getting what they want by deftly sidestepping all opposition.

Yet despite the open, friendliness of Pisces there is a deeply private side to their character. Mystical Neptune endows those born under the signs of the fish with psychic powers, an instinctive understanding of spirituality and the ability to see deep beneath the surface, while magnanimous Jupiter inspires them to use these gifts to help others and also to love music and dancing – at which they have considerable talent.

But Jupiter is outgoing while Neptune is introverted and with two planets tugging in different directions Pisces often finds it difficult to reconcile the conflicting emotions that result. Which is why the two fish which symbolise this sign are swimming in opposite directions.

For this reason too, Pisces can be notoriously indecisive. They can see both sides of any argument and find it very difficult to make up their minds what to do for the best. Maddeningly for their friends and families they are quite likely to go back on their final decision at least once.

In fact at times, the demands of the world get too much for Pisces and they need to withdraw from others for a while, in order to get to grips with the complicated facets of their natures.

When they finally emerge from a period of battery recharging they often enjoy a spurt of amazing creative energy which enables them to make tremendous progress in whatever project they happen to be working on which is why without appearing to be particularly ambitious, Pisces subjects are often surprisingly successful.

Pisces in Love

Emotional Pisces is born to love but these individuals are so romantic they can be over idealistic and end up disappointed when their lover turns out to be only human, with faults, after all.

Pisces will be the most passionate and caring of partners to someone worthy of them but finding that person is difficult. Relationships often start well and then fizzle out as Pisces discover that Mr or Ms Perfect was not so perfect after all.

Get it right however and Pisces can offer lifelong romance that never fades.
