EastEnders is famous for its miserable Christmas episodes - and this year will be no different.
The soap is said to be killing off a character and leaving 3 others fighting for their lives after a huge fire at the B&B next month.
'This is the biggest fire EastEnders has ever seen and there will be casualties,' says a TV insider.
'It is such a huge disaster that it will affect most of the families on the show in one way or another.'
Phil Mitchell, Masood Ahmed and Tamwar Masood are reportedly all left with severe injuries while soap villain Dr Yusef Khan dies in the inferno, which starts during a festive party at the B&B.
When the building's 1st floor collapses, Yusef falls 10ft and is engulfed by the flames - just moments after he's waved to daughter Afia outside.
'It's not just deaths this fire causes, it's divorce and destruction among families,' the insider tells the Daily Mirror.
'It is the perfect thing to make sure the soap explodes with emotion and excitement going into the New Year.'
